Hello, my name is Ryan Chu.

I am a recent graduate of CSULB's BFA Animation Program. I've been a student there since freshman, keeping a close eye on what to expect as I get closer to graduating. When it was time to produce my thesis film, I did the best of my abilities with what I had and what I knew, producing Deep Fears.

Deep Fears and its art direction is something I'm not too experienced with, which why I decided to do it. It was my last year to work on something away from what usually appeals to me, so I wanted to show that I can do it regardless of genre differences. It attempts to be more emotional and grounded that conflicts with the art direction portrayed in the film, cute and simplified.

Also, I'll be happy to answer any questions regarding CSULB's Animation Program to anyone who's interested in their program. I'll provide a grounded perspective about the program and it's pros & cons from what I've noticed from being there all the time. The program is still maturing compared with our CSU counterparts and private art colleges, but it's gaining a lot more attention, influence, and opportunities for future students to take advantage of.
